What's Up crazy kidds and cool cats ? This is Dayshia checkin in once again with another update. First off i want to say Happy New Year to you all and say that Tati & myself feel like 2011 will bring big opportunities for CIK and open more doors. We are making major moves this year and im super excited. We just recently finished up our first poem that will be released soon enough for you all to see called ; "Mic Check". I would explain the whole concept but once you see the video you'll see that we elaborate on what the poem is really about. So yeah this post isn't super long but it's just another quick update to let you all know we aren't DEAD haha & we're on the road to success and greatness. So be patient & you'll be surprised for what's yet to come ; )

Any Flu's Lately ?!

Haha . Hey Guys this is Dayshia again just checkin in . . . caught a lilCIK cold at 2:25 this afternoon and thought i'd update the blog real quick . Sorry once again we've been busy all the time , because unlike some we've have this thing where we'd like to have our stuff complete & exact . Not having your projects rushed and unfinished as if it were some type of race or competition ;i don't understand why some people try to run after someone else's work ??? I find it EXTREMELY funny yet amazing how CIK has open eyes for non-believers and dreamkillers , because before NO ONE would understand or even want to hear what we had to say BUT now they can't wait till we open up shop or drop out first items of clothings . Im shocked to be quite honest with you . Its got me over here CIKfully laughing ! ! ! [ Ignorance is BLISS i tell u ] I just felt like getting the REAL out finally because it's starting to get on our damn nerves . && NOW more and more "all of a sudden" groups are starting to form ; I mean that by there are NOW folks cookin up lil cute names for themselves and starting to have ideas of poetry and shops , and other imaginations dreams that we've already had . Im not knocking anyone because im glad you have goals and dreams im just saying , let your dream be YOUR OWN and be different . Think of something that no one has before , not saying that we were the first one's to have thought of this but in our small lil town [Saginaw MI] shits crazy . . #JustSaying . it's honestly nothing but love and always will be !

#BrokeRich: Low Funds, High Times

I bring to you ladies and gentleman... the LONG-AWAITED blog post that shall begin a habit of all hobbies. 

Now, doing a whole bio on Danny G's life would be highly unncessary and that's not at all what we're here to do but this post is indeed on a more personal level seeing as ChicksInKicks (CIK) shares a mutual friendship with this featured artist: Danny G.  If it's one thing that CIK does want to ALWAYS do though, it's PROMOTE and who better to put our team on than ourselves? 

Danny comes straight out of a group that we are honored to be dabbling in conversation with from time to time: FreshSince.  They,too, have a long-awaited blog post that is on its way.  CIK has honestly just been busy guys. But, with all of us being out of the small town of Saginaw, MI it is a true statement that we are our own supporters. It's a good thing that these guys don't make it hard to be excited about proclaiming their works to the public.

As you can see from the picture up top Danny has released a project entitled #BrokeRich: Low Funds, High Times.  CIK has had the ultimate pleasure in listening to this mixtape and to let it be known... WE LOVE IT! We could not be any more proud of the moves that were made with this work.  From the beginning to the end with every feature and every verse this is honestly something that everyone should take a test drive with and it's a given that you can not and will not be disappointed.  It takes you through a whirlwind of sounds with some familiar beats and rhythms and even some originals.  From the first listen it is TOO HARD to put away.  It is guarunteed that you will have this on your iPhones, iPods, Zunes, Blackberrys, car CD player, and HEY... even though many people have forgotten about it... we still need to put songs through to the RADIO!

Fresh At First Sight *

- I was just in my dorm room trying to write a poem & apparently this turned into a semi-story . -



This is taking place in Chicago for those who don't know what Michigan Ave. im talking about ;




Beautiful , inside and out . The simplicity of what she's all about makes his whole body go into complete shock . She's aboSOLEulty equivalent to everything that he's ever dreamed of . Not that she's the ultimate example of what he's ever wanted in a girl , from her light brown eyes to the curves that she portrays to the smell of her perfume , from the culturalised style of how she dresses to the freshness of her attitude because she's already killin him with the sneaks on her feet as far as he can see. His jealousy is what draws him more near to her because he wished to have as much FreshSince as her , she's not even doing anything but simply walking the streets of Michigan Ave, walking directly into the Nike Factory with a Louie purse and a Gucci shopping bag with the freshest pair of Nike Dunks he'd ever seen . He tries to freshen himself up by going into the H&M store and buying a crewneck sweater , flips his snapback backwards and walks into the Nike store . Trying to find her in the women's section , he searches the whole store to only find her on the 2nd floor on the men's section trying on the newly released 2's that had recently just dropped . He almost stumbled over his own feet because looking down at his own shoes , they too were the 2's only she'd tried on the yellow one's and he had on the green because he wore the red one's the other day . Slowly approaching her , his heart beating extrememly fast , skipping every other beat. His heart felt huge like it was apart of the FatRaps Remix's itself . Smelling of Boss calgone, he licked his locious lips and checked himself in the mirror by the rack of jordan's , making sure that his sweater was fresh enough to approach her , his Levi's were the right shade of black and his chinstrap didn't look do overdue for a shapeup . After all of 3 minutes of grooming himself in the shoe store he turned around to only find her gone , but not out of his life , but paying for TWO pairs of 2's. He had to catch himself because "WTF" almost slipped from his own mouth because he was falling inlove already , she was fresh and independent . He hadn't bought any new shoes since the night before,and he had them on his feet . Eventhough he had about $700 in his pocket ... that slipped his mind because his future girl , wife , long time lover was getting on the escalator. No time to waste he ran for her ,he gently collided into her, flashing those beautiful white teeth of his and she looked up almost scuffing the exclusive Dunks she had on herself because in her mind , this guy wasn't who she wanted , he was exactly what she needed . She gave a smirk back , he took both her bags , they left the shoe store & walked to streets of Michigan Ave, together letting Chicago know that this is what the start of love looks like . Fresh At First Sight <3

Well , Well , Well

It's been awhile hasn't it ? Apparently we have about 3 blogs now , 2 of which that are bein set up and processed and this one we just kind of neglected . . . But this is Dayshia checkin in one time just to upadate yall and let you all know that we haven't forgotten to remind you guys of anything , we just want to bring it to you all at once , instead of bits and pieces. So this is pretty much a preivew post to the next will that we'll update about a couple friends and one of our biggest supporters ; FreshSince* these guys are truely somethin else when it comes to promotin ChicksInKicks and supportin us with everything that we do , along with EST , & HS . . . and a few other individual people that love us as well . So just keep watching out for the next post that we'll dedicate to FS and some other people , cause we aren't ones to give love and not show it . . . we ALWAYS support those who support us , 1hunnit <3

Heads & Tales .

So, It's been about two weeks since this blog has been updated which leads me to do the most EPIC of SMH's ever done! But, there is a bright side to the lack of dedication to the blog. ChicksInKicks has been doing EVERYTHING but kickin' back, maxin' & relaxin'. These past few weeks have been all about school work on top of CiK work.

The most important idea of all that has come in to play though, is the upcoming scheme of the boutique & poetry club: Heads & Tales. In combining our love for sneaks and fashion with the admiration of the culture, we realized how it's all about "SneakerHeads with Stories". From this emerged "Heads & Tales." Though this is only an idea and not necessarily set in stone, ChicksInKicks believes in themselves and will strive to work their hardest to stand out in whatever they do. What we do ask of everyone else, though, is to support and promote us.

We would also love to give a big shout out to EST & FreshSince for being there for us all of the way because they truley have blessed us with insight and support because they are making a way for us. It honestly feels good to have people that criticize you in LOVE because they don't want to see you make the same mistakes that they have. I believe that all of us will be at the finish line with each other getting our Gold medals for our accomplishments. So, let's make a name for our city guys while doing what we enjoy = )

As a SideNote ... ChicksInKicks will be reunited for Labor Day weekend. This isn't as if they'll be doing a show or something: NOOOO! But ... it's been a while since Dayshia & Tati have seen each other. It was so sad being at the BATTER UP RELEASE PARTY (Shouts Out to Zook) with Dayshia in another state. But, until diplomas are received, the separation is necessary for the duo. This reunion shall be something special seeing as right after Labor Day weekend, Dayshia goes back to school in Kentucky & Tati continues with going back to Georgia to finish out the semester on campus.

Continue to encourage us and keep this movement going because it's honestly gotten a long way in the little time that it's been living. Without the word of mouth, CiK would be NOTHING.

*We promise to NEVER let it be another two weeks that this blog gets neglected. Let's aim for at least a minor post a day with something, Okay ?!

Be Patient .

Okay so this is Dayshia , checkin in one time . I haven't really messed with this blog stuff to tough... but im startin to gettin the hang of it . So i'd thought i'd let Tati have a break and lemme see what i can do . But yess , ChicksInKicks are super busy at the current moment with our big moves and other projects were handling . That doesn't mean forget about us tho and not follow up on what were doing and stayin tuned . You should ALWAYS stayed tuned to CIK ha ! But seriously , were slowly but surely makin our way to the top , gettin mad love and support from tons of different groups and associations in our local city , so now were looking for more promoters and supporters from all over . Since were making these majors moves , hopefully we can get some more *southern* supporters since that's where we are headed . So just sit tight and keep posted for what were about to come up with next .. don't lose hope just yet , cause when get on our feet ... the kicks + material gon be FIYAAAAH =)
